The Longines Hong Kong International Horse Show (LHKIHS) is set to return to AsiaWorld-Expo in January, with the support of the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), in an effort to promote equestrian sport and its community within Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area (GBA).
In celebration of the upcoming Year of the Horse, which begins in February 2026, the event aims to provide both residents and international visitors with an extraordinary opportunity to appreciate and enjoy world-class equestrian excellence.
LHKIHS will take place from January 30 to February 1 and will feature an expanded format.
In addition to the prestigious 5-star International Show Jumping event, which will showcase exhilarating competition from world-class international horses and riders, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Asian Youth Challenge will also be introduced to commemorate the Year of the Horse.
The initiative invites young show jumpers from Hong Kong, China, Chinese Taipei, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand to participate in a dedicated competition, thereby highlighting the remarkable talent present in equestrian sports.
LHKIHS will also introduce Dog Agility to the Arena Program to give attendees the opportunity to witness impressive canine performances, adding an exciting new dimension to the Show.
The memorable Shetland Pony Grand National will also be in place to allow the audience to watch the pint size ponies with their junior jockeys flying around a miniature track at top speeds.
The Lifestyle Shopping Village at the event -- with themed zones including Equestrian Suppliers, Fashion & Accessories, Wine & Gourmet, Interior & Design, and Lifestyle & Leisure -- will also offer an experience that blends lifestyle and leisure for wholesome fun and a family day out.
The event-goers can also explore runway shows, Kids Zone, Warm-Up Ring, where they will see riders putting their horses through their paces before they take them through to the main performance arena for competition.
"Equestrian sport has long been a key focus for the Club," HKJC chief executive Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges said. "Our aim is to develop equestrian sport in Hong Kong to a global level."
He noted that through the partners across the Greater Bay Area and beyond, the Club looks forward to welcoming many tourists to enjoy world-class equestrian sport and world-class racing at local racecourses.
"All of this underlines how Hong Kong is now a hub for top-line sport and entertainment," he added.
