Construction worker injured by falling concrete in Ngau Tau Kok

A construction worker in his 30s died after falling from a height at a construction site in Kwu Tung on Thursday morning.
Police received a report around 10am that a worker had suffered head injuries after falling from a cage lift on a construction site for Public Housing Development at Kwu Tung North Area 19 Phase 1A and Phase 1B.
Rescue workers rushed the injured worker to North District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11.46am
Initial investigations indicated that the worker fell from the seventh floor onto the second floor platform while installing screws in the cage lift.
It is reported that the door of the cage lift was not locked at the time of the incident.
Onsite sources revealed the deceased was responsible for aluminum formwork and was unresponsive when taken to the hospital
The police have classified the case as an industrial incident.
An investigation is ongoing.
