Six individuals have been brought before the courts in connection with the murder of a 51-year-old man on Yik Yuen Road in Hung Shui Kiu, with prosecutors revealing that the assailant who carried out the stabbing remains unidentified and is still on the run.
The victim was discovered deceased on Monday morning (Aug 25). The investigation has so far led to 15 arrests.
Following two individuals previously charged with "assisting an offender," three more were charged with the same offence, and an additional three were charged with "conspiracy to murder." All six defendants appeared at Fanling Magistrates' Courts on Friday.
The prosecution applied for the case to be adjourned until November 21 to allow for further investigation, a request granted by the magistrate. They stated that the key suspect, the actual knifeman, has not yet been apprehended.
Investigators are working to collect and analyze relevant CCTV footage and examine the defendants' phones.
The three defendants charged with conspiracy to murder were ordered to be remanded in custody, while the other three defendants charged with "assisting an offender" were granted bail under strict conditions, including surrendering all travel documents, residing at their reported addresses, and reporting daily to a police station.
All six defendants were not required to enter a plea today. The case will resume on November 21.
