A 51-year-old man was found dead under a bridge in Hung Shui Kiu on Monday morning, prompting a large-scale police investigation.

Authorities received the report at approximately 6am that an injured man was lying unconscious beneath the Kong Sham Western Highway bridge on Yik Yuen Road, near an open-air storage yard.

Police and emergency personnel arrived at the scene to find the man bleeding from head wounds. After an examination, he was certified dead at the scene.
The area was cordoned off as officers launched an investigation.
Initial investigations revealed bloodstains inside a nearby seven-seater. Police have contacted the registered owner of the vehicle to assist with the investigation.
In a sign of the investigation's complexity, the police Forensic Division deployed its state-of-the-art mobile forensics lab to the site. Government chemists were also called in to assist with evidence collection.
