The Hong Kong government has raised its travel warning for Israel and Iran to the highest "red" level, advising residents to avoid all non-essential travel to both countries due to escalating security risks.
The updated Outbound Travel Alert comes amid growing instability in the region, with particular concerns about border areas and several provinces.
Authorities specifically warned against any travel to Gaza and regions near Israel's borders with Syria and Lebanon, where recent clashes have intensified.
For Iran, the government highlighted dangers in Isfahan, Qom, Markazi and Bushehr provinces as particularly high-risk areas that should be avoided.
A government spokesperson highlighted the significant threats the current security situation poses to travelers.
They strongly urged Hong Kong residents to reconsider any planned visits to these destinations and to exercise extreme caution if travel is unavoidable.
For those already in the affected countries, officials emphasized the importance of staying vigilant and following guidance from local authorities.
The Chinese embassies in both nations remain available to assist Hong Kong citizens.
The Immigration Department has activated multiple support channels, including a 24-hour hotline at +852 1868, along with WhatsApp, WeChat and online assistance options.
Travelers are encouraged to register their itineraries through the government's online portal to receive critical updates.
The Security Bureau says it will continue monitoring the situation closely and provide updates through official platforms as conditions develop.
