Inspired by the Chiikawa manga series, there are four "Chiikawa Ramen Buta” in Japan, including locations in Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima, and the largest branch in Ikebukuro, Tokyo.
Teaming up with Flame Concepts, the first overseas location at Langham Place will feature 87 seats, making it larger than its Tokyo location.
From the walls to the tableware, the restaurant recreates the classic scenes from the manga, with life-sized sculptures and illustrated decorations of the three main characters—Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi—drawing fans into the adorable world of Chiikawa.
Taste from the manga
To ensure fans enjoy the original flavor in Japan, the ramen reportedly will be shipped directly from Japan.
Similar to Japan’s shop, three portion sizes will be provided: mini bowl (Chiikawa), small bowl (Hachiware), and large bowl (Usagi).
Each ramen will feature classic tonkotsu broth, a soft-boiled egg, chashu (Japanese braised pork belly), along with adorable character fish cakes, and matching character stickers.
Drinks will be served in bottles featuring Chiikawa character illustrations, allowing diners to take them home as souvenirs. Additionally, random character collectible cards will be distributed with drink orders.

Merchandise and reservations
Apart from ramen and drinks, the Hong Kong branch will also offer a range of Chiikawa-themed merchandise, including ramen bowls, beer cups, water bottles, face towels, bracelets, T-shirts, logo stickers, spoons, and ramen plates.
The first round of reservations will open on Thursday (Aug 7) at 1pm via KKday for the first month of opening (August 16 to September 15), where future reservation openings will be announced on Flames Concepts' social media and the KKday event page.
Notably, customers will need to pay a deposit for a bottle of black oolong tea (valued at HK$38) when selecting their seating and time on the platform.
The tea will be distributed on the day of the visit and cannot be redeemed.
