The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) is actively preparing for the commencement of regular racing events at the Conghua Racecourse in China, scheduled to start in October 2026.
The construction of the distinctive grandstand is nearing completion, indicating the venue's readiness to host esteemed competitions.
HKJC said the Conghua Racecourse, in conjunction with the Sha Tin and Happy Valley Racecourses, will serve to enhance the Greater Bay Area's profile as a premier tourist destination.
It will also advance the National Equine Industry Development Plan, which seeks to develop a high-quality equine industry in the Mainland, HKJC added.
"Our aim is to make Conghua a truly iconic and must-go destination, a place not only to enjoy the best racing but also to be truly inspired about all forms of horse sports," HKJC's Chief Executive Officer Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges noted. "There will be an experience center featuring cutting-edge audio-visuals to engage visitors with an appreciation of the horse and there will be retail, dining and online experiences, all integrated with our racing."
