According to the club, the transition aims to provide customers with a more convenient and secure authentication process aligned with current technological standards. During the migration period, both the new and existing login systems will operate simultaneously to ensure uninterrupted service.
The HKJC emphasized that customers will only receive migration invitations through official channels—personal emails from the club and app push notifications—along with prompts upon logging into HKJC apps or the website.
The organization warned against potential phishing attempts, clarifying that it would never request personal information or login details via unsolicited SMS, third-party emails, or phone calls.
For users of Classic 3-in-1 and Racing Touch apps, linking betting accounts to personal devices via OTP authentication will eliminate the need for security questions. Those already using biometric authentication will benefit from additional security enhancements. Meanwhile, eWin platform users can opt to trust their web browsers after OTP verification, avoiding repeated login questions for eight-hour intervals.
Customer support will be available at Off-Course Betting Branches, as well as at Sha Tin and Happy Valley Racecourses on race days. A dedicated hotline (3161 5188) will also be established, while existing helplines (1817 and 1818) will connect callers to specialized staff for assistance.
The migration process reportedly takes less than a minute to complete, with step-by-step guidance provided in an official tutorial video. The club’s initiative follows broader industry trends toward stronger digital security measures amid rising cyber threats.
