The bank has filed a writ with the District Court to repossess a flat in Sheung Man Court, Kwai Chung, and recover the outstanding loan plus interest. The case is scheduled for a hearing on October 8.
According to court documents, Kwong, 65, mortgaged the Kwai Chung property in July 2020 for HK$2.073 million but subsequently defaulted on repayments. HSBC is now seeking to reclaim the debt and take possession of the flat.
Kwong’s listed addresses include both the Sheung Man Court unit and a luxury home in Kadooria, Ho Man Tin.
The repossession case adds to Kwong’s legal troubles as he remains embroiled in the investigation into Abby Choi’s killing.
He, along with his sons Alex Kwong Kong-chi (Choi’s ex-husband) and Kwong Kong-kit, faces charges including murder and preventing a lawful burial. Their case is set for a committal hearing on June 9 at Eastern Magistrates’ Court, where it will be referred to the High Court for trial.
