In a blog published on Sunday, the finance chief said authorities would capitalize on the city's cultural and natural assets to promote the concept "tourism is everywhere in Hong Kong."

According to Chan, the city welcomed 570,000 tourists during the first two days of the Golden Week holiday, including 490,000 from the mainland - a 31 percent increase compared to last year.
On Friday (May 2) alone, around 267,000 mainland tourists entered Hong Kong, marking the highest single-day arrival figure since the pandemic.
Chan highlighted that the government expects to complete several projects by the end of this year, including the east section of the East Coast Boardwalk, the first phase of the Hung Hom Urban Park, and the open space at Eastern Street North in Sai Ying Pun.
He also mentioned that the government will introduce snack and drink stalls this year along the waterfronts of Central, Wan Chai, North Point, and Tsim Sha Tsui, allowing tourists to enjoy Victoria Harbour's scenery in greater comfort and convenience.
Additionally, Chan noted that authorities are advancing the construction of a round-the-island trail, which will connect key landmarks, historical and cultural buildings, beaches, and country parks across Hong Kong Island.

He added that 80 percent of the trail's sections have already been linked, with the government aiming to complete 90 percent of the route by the end of 2027.
