Cantopop star Nicolas Tse Ting-fung began his concerts as the first Asian artist to perform solo in the new Kai Tak Sports Park last night, with a star-studded audience including members of boy band Mirror and girl group Twins.
Around 30 celebrities managed by the same company as Tse, came to support the singer’s first solo act in 25 years, including singers Joey Yung, Hins Cheung, Kenny Kwan as well as Twins’ Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung.
Among the some 43,700 attendees are also five of 12 members of boy band Mirror, including Alton Wong, Jer Lau, Anson Kong, Jeremy Lee and Tiger Yau, along with top broadcasting executives from ViuTV and TVB.

Deborah Lee, Nicholas Tse’s mother, was seen in the front row of Section A, enjoying the concert alongside her husband, Kong Yiu-sing. In a departure from the norm where celebrity parents might choose private boxes, Lee opted to immerse herself among the fans on the floor, dancing and fully engaging with the performance, which highlighted her approachable demeanor.
A fan arrived at the venue as early as 3pm, having travelled from Jiangmen city in Guangdong province for the concert, but planned only to stay one night before returning home.
Another mainland fan from Wuhan planned to stay in Hong Kong for three days. She even bought overpriced tickets from scalpers for two of Tse’s concerts, as she thought the singer is worth seeing even with extra money spent.
