Hong Kong Immigration Department (ImmD) has been awarded the 2025 Skytrax Award for Best Airport Immigration Service, marking its fifth win, with previous victories in 2015, 2016, 2019, and 2020.

The award was presented at a ceremony in Madrid, Spain, on April 9, attended by Benson Kwok Joon-fung, Director of Immigration.
Kwok expressed pride in receiving this prestigious recognition again, highlighting it as a testament to ImmD's dedication to providing top-tier immigration services. He thanked Skytrax, international travelers, and the department's frontline staff for their commitment and professionalism.
The award, part of a global survey conducted by Skytrax, involved over 13 million air passengers from more than 100 nationalities, assessing over 600 airports worldwide from August 2024 to February 2025. Skytrax, known for its detailed audits and research in the air transport industry, helps enhance service standards globally.
During his visit to Spain, Kwok also engaged in diplomatic and cooperative discussions. He visited the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Spain, meeting with Chargé d'Affaires ad interim and Minister Qu Xun to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and thanked the embassy for its support to Hong Kong residents in Spain.
Additionally, Kwok met with Elena Garzón Otamendi, Director-General of International Relations at the Spanish Ministry of the Interior. They exchanged views on immigration control, combating illegal immigration, and the use of innovative technologies in enhancing immigration services.
Kwok's engagements in Spain also included interactions with local media to discuss Hong Kong's latest developments, talent admission schemes, visa services, and immigration facilitation measures.
The ImmD remains committed to leveraging innovative technologies to further enhance the efficiency of immigration services, aiming to reinforce Hong Kong's status as a leading international aviation hub and support the city's overall development.
