Hong Kong will experience a temperature rollercoaster this weekend, with a sharp drop from a high of 28 degrees Celsius on Thursday to 17 degrees on Saturday.
According to the Hong Kong Observatory’s 9-day weather forecast, a cold front is expected to move across the coastal areas late Friday into early Saturday.
The forecaster noted that the persistent influence of the northeast monsoon will keep the weather cool in the region throughout the weekend and into early next week.
On Friday, the weather will be mainly cloudy with a few showers, with temperatures ranging from 20 to 28 degrees.
Northeasterly winds will develop, leading to a significant temperature drop of 11 degrees compared to the previous day, bringing temperatures down to around 17 degrees by Saturday.
On Sunday, the lowest temperature will fall further to 16 degrees. After that, temperatures will rise again, reaching a high of 23 degrees by next Tuesday and climbing to 27 degrees on Ching Ming Festival.
