Artificial intelligence-driven motion generators and virtual reality installations are among the highlights of Hong Kong Baptist University’s showcase at the Hong Kong International Film and TV Market held from March 17 to 20.
Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the event features over 760 exhibitors from 34 economies.
At the HKBU pavilion, visitors can explore the “AI Motion Acting Agent,” an AI-driven system for adaptive motion generation, enabling interactive animation and immersive storytelling.
Another key exhibit is “DigitalGuardian,” an AI tool that protects digital creators’ intellectual property by embedding invisible markers into digital assets, ensuring ownership rights.
The pavilion also features immersive virtual reality projects inspired by Polish writer Stanislaw Lem’s novel Memoirs Found in a Bathtub and the folklore of Hong Kong and the UK.
Additionally, “VotR.AR,” an augmented reality installation, allows users to explore Leonardo da Vinci’s Virgin of the Rocks through a virtual 3D model.
HKBU’s “Future Cinema Systems” platform offers an immersive cinematic experience, showcasing next-generation film production technologies.
HKBU Interim Chief Innovation Officer Terence Lau said the university aims to unleash innovation across various domains, from music to gaming, while promoting cultural diversity and heritage.
The pavilion also highlights eight art tech startups, demonstrating innovations in AI-driven music, performing arts, and visual storytelling.
Beyond the exhibition, HKBU experts are participating in FILMART’s seminar sessions, including discussions on AI’s role in filmmaking and its future applications.
