Secretary for Culture, Sports & Tourism Rosanna Law Shuk-pui met with Singapore's counterpart on Monday to discuss potential collaboration to deepen the mutual exchanges.
During the meeting with the Minister for Culture, Community, and Youth and the Second Minister for Law of Singapore Edwin Tong Chun-fai, Law expressed the city's willingness to enhance cooperation with Singapore to promote exchanges and interactions in the areas of culture, sports and tourism to increase prosperity in the Asian region.
As both parties discussed the sports facilities, Law mentioned that the opening of Kai Tak Sports Park would provide world-class facilities for hosting major international events.
The upcoming events in the sports park included the 15th National Games, the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities, and the 9th National Special Olympic Games, which are co-hosted by Guangdong and Macau.
Additionally, Law highlighted the role of Hong Kong as an East-meets-West center for international cultural exchange, citing the Hong Kong Super March -- which features a series of creative and culturally vibrant events -- for tourists to experience the city's unique charm.
In terms of tourism, Law stated that the SAR government would introduce new and diversified approaches to attract more visitors, encourage high-quality tourism development, and pursue the "tourism everywhere" concept.
