Guided by approximately 140 green volunteers, the students collaborated to create the "Wonders of Africa" horticultural display, a highlight of the forthcoming Hong Kong Flower Show.
This display features a vibrant array of around 44,000 flowers and plants, such as carnations, myosotis, chrysanthemums, lavender, pansies, cosmos, and impatiens.
The exhibit includes charming floral sculptures that depict iconic African wildlife. Visitors will see representations of a gorilla and a hippopotamus in lush rainforests, a camel and an ostrich navigating expansive deserts in search of water, a horned viper tucked away in a secluded spot, and an elephant and a giraffe grazing in the vast savannas with two horses galloping freely.
The display offers a photogenic backdrop for visitors during the day and transforms into a lit spectacle in the evenings, evoking the allure of the African wilderness.
The Hong Kong Flower Show will take place at Victoria Park from March 14 to March 23, open daily from 9am to 9pm. This year, the show celebrates the cosmos flower under the theme "Ablaze with Glory."
For more information, the public is encouraged to contact 2601 8260 or visit the official flower show website.
The event is organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, with the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust returning as a major sponsor for the 13th consecutive year, having supported the event since 2014.
