Woman, 21, arrested in $7.9m airport drug bust

Police arrested a 21-year-old woman at the Hong Kong International Airport on Thursday, after some 10.7 kilograms of suspected cocaine were found in her carry-on luggage.

Police said the woman was intercepted by officers at the arrival hall during an anti-narcotics operation.

Some 10.7 kilograms of suspected cocaine were seized from her carry-on luggage, with a market value of around HK$7.9 million.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of trafficking dangerous drugs and is currently detained for further investigation.
