A woman was arrested in Mong Kok on Tuesday morning after police found her in possession of 23 bags of cocaine.
The incident occurred around 10 am when West Kowloon police, during a routine patrol, noticed a sedan parked suspiciously near the junction of Shantung Street and Ferry Street.
Upon investigation, the female driver initially refused to exit her vehicle. After repeated warnings, she exited and threw a bag containing items from her fist into a nearby sewer hole, prompting police to retrieve it, suspecting it to be cocaine.
A further search revealed 23 bags of cocaine hidden on her person, each weighing approximately 10 grams.
The vehicle was confirmed to be registered under the driver’s name, and she was identified as the owner.
She was arrested on suspicion of trafficking in dangerous drugs.
Subsequently, a drug-sniffing dog was brought to the scene to assist in searching the area.
