The grand opening ceremony of the 50,000-seater Kai Tak Stadium on March 1 promises to be a spectacular event, featuring dazzling fireworks and performances by prominent Hong Kong celebrities.
The show is being produced by renowned "star producer" Ida Wong in collaboration with a local production team and the national broadcaster CCTV.
While some legislators have proposed inviting the legendary "Four Heavenly Kings" of the 1990s -- Jacky Cheung Hok-yau, Andy Lau Tak-wah, Leon Lai Ming, and Aaron Kwok Fu-shing -- to perform, coordinating their schedules for the same date poses a challenge.
Nonetheless, politicians anticipate a diverse lineup that will include performers from various age groups.
Ida Wong, known for her extensive experience in concert production, has previously supervised shows for stars like Faye Wong and JJ Lin.
She also produced the stadium's inaugural concert last month, featuring four local performing groups.
Regarding ticket arrangements, authorities have indicated that tickets will not be limited to civil servants but will be distributed through sponsors, district organizations, and various community groups.
Public ticket sales are not planned at this time, with details still being finalized.
District councilors have noted that tickets will be reserved for local community members, aiming to share the joy of this landmark event with the public.
