A Facebook user uploaded a photo about the flower shop’s "HK$50 pick your own” deal on the afternoon of January 30, the second day of the LNY.
According to the post, the store was located at Lo Tak Court in Tsuen Wan, and the uploaded photo shows a broad choice of flowers in the store around 2 pm, with the deal allowing customers to take as many as they want.
The post sparked a flurry of responses from other web users, with one adding that it was a nice deal, given that the store had sold three flowers for HK$100 the previous day.
Another commenter updated the situation at around 5 pm on the same day, recommending that others hurry and pick the flowers up as the price has been raised to HK$80.
Some proudly shared their “trophy” flowers the next day, highlighting they had picked flowers that filled two vases with plenty left over.
Meanwhile, such responses led some to reflect on the difficulties of running flower shops, noting that making a living was not easy in the comment section.
