On her social media, Ho noted that the residents’ paintings were nearly finished when she arrived with lawmakers Frankie Ngan Man-yu and Bill Tang Ka-piu, along with Kwun Tong district councilors Kan Ming-tung and Ching Hoi-yan.
Ho described their paintings as “evocative” and quickly immersed herself in the tradition of writing spring couplets.
Together, they penned heartfelt wishes on the couplets such as “Building happiness together,” “Always smiling,” “Full of vitality,” and “Great luck, great profit,” celebrating the upcoming Lunar New Year with community members.
Ho and the lawmakers then visited the estate’s exterior wall, which was adorned with ink paintings created by calligrapher Chui Pui-chee.
“Everyone was very pleased with the beautification of the estate’s exterior wall. It was wonderful to see such a prominent traditional mural that perfectly complements the festive spirit of the Lunar New Year,” she said.
