The 26-second dashcam footage shows the girl in school uniform stepping off the sidewalk on Fuk Wing Street around 4 pm on Friday (Jan 17).
Walking down the middle of the road, she seemed cautious and frequently glanced out for oncoming traffic. She then crossed a signal-controlled crossing when the red light was on.
The video sparked discussions, as some pointed out that although the girl seemed aware of her surroundings, her height might make her less visible to drivers.
Criticism was also aimed at the child's parents, with netizens questioning their responsibilities and calling for road safety education for children.
