Festival showcases Tai Wai's distinct charm kicks off

The public is provided opportunities to learn about the unique characteristics of Tai Wai as the inaugural Tai Wai life festival Experience Tai Wai kicked off this morning at the district's community landmark shopping mall, The Wai.

Lasting until March 2, the event includes an interactive exhibition at The Wai, community guided tours, cultural performances and a Lunar New Year market, through which the public will be able to experience the traditional culture and lifestyle of Tai Wai in a holistic manner.

During the remarks at the launching ceremony, Alice Mak Mei-kuen, the Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, expressed her satisfaction with the collaborative efforts of various organizations in promoting traditional culture, believing the festival has the potential to appeal to citizens of all ages as well as to tourists.
