The head of the National Games Coordination Office Yeung Tak-keung noted the bridge’s westbound lane (from Hong Kong to Macao or Zhuhai) will be closed from 7.30 am to 12.30 pm, while the eastbound lane will be closed from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm.
Yeung reminded residents traveling from Hong Kong to the mainland and Macao to arrive at the Hong Kong border by 6.30 am.
Meanwhile, North Lantau Highway will implement temporary road closures before and after the cyclists reach those specific sections.
Police estimated that vehicles traveling around the urban race routes will experience an additional 30 minutes of travel time, resulting in around 4 kilometers of traffic congestion.
The organizers will set up a viewing area at Disneyland allowing several hundred residents to watch the event. Discussions on providing online live streaming of the race are ongoing.
