The terms of office of two non-permanent judges of the Court of Final Appeal -- Syed Kemal Shah Bokhary and Robert Tang Ching -- have been extended for another three years, the Judiciary announced on Monday.
The new three-year terms for the two Justices will commence on October 25.
According to the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal Ordinance, there are lists of non-permanent Hong Kong judges and a list of judges from other common law jurisdictions with a three-year appointment term, which the Chief Executive may extend for one or more periods of three years upon the Chief Justice's recommendation.
