The national and regional flags at government buildings were flown at half-staff on Monday morning, as the remains of Wu Bangguo, former chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, are to be cremated in Beijing today.

The Hong Kong SAR government said the national and regional flags will be flown at half-staff at the government headquarters, government house, and all boundary control and checkpoints today, as a token of mourning for Wu.
Wu died of illness at 4.36 am on October 8 in Beijing, according to an official obituary. He was 84.
