14-year-old student and helper injured by concrete falling from Sham Tseng building

Concrete falling from a Sham Tseng building injured a 14-year-old girl and a foreign domestic helper on Thursday morning when the two were on their way to school.

The pair were passing by Block 2 of Rhine Garden when pieces of concrete fell from a height, sending fragments scattering across the ground.

The girl was hit on the head by a concrete slab while the helper sustained injuries to her left leg.

The two were treated at the scene by paramedics before being sent to Yan Chai Hospital for further checks.

Police later responded to the scene and cordoned off the area, also alerting relevant government departments to follow up.
