Five injured after crane accident at Lok Ma Chau worksite

Five workers were injured after an incident occurred with a crane arm at a construction site in Lok Ma Chau on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred shortly before 4 pm when the police received a report that a tube from a crane arm that was used to transfer cement fell and crushed a building below, along with several workers.

Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, where they discovered five injured workers. Four of the workers were crushed by the heavy object, while another worker fell into a nearby hole during the incident.

All five injured workers remained conscious when they were transported to North District Hospital and the Prince of Wales Hospital for medical attention.

The police are currently investigating the cause of the accident to determine the circumstances that led to the event.
