Hong Kong boccia player Ho Yuen-kei secured a gold medal at the Paris Paralympics on Tuesday, marking the second gold for the delegation at the Games.
The 31-year-old faced Australia's Jamieson Leeson in the women's individual BC3 final.
Ho scored two points in each of the first two rounds for a 4-0 lead. Though Leeson narrowed the gap in the next two ends to a score of 2-4, it was not enough to overcome the deficit and stop Ho from taking gold.
It is the second gold medal from the city's Boccia team after John Loung won in Monday's Men's BC1 individual event.
Ho will compete in the Boccia's mixed pairs BC3 event alongside Paralympian Tse Tak-wah.
Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu congratulated Ho and praised her for her extraordinary perseverance as well as her outstanding performance.
"I wish the Hong Kong boccia team continued success in future competitions to bring honor to Hong Kong," he added.
Separately, badminton athlete Chan Ho-yuen grabbed a silver in the Men's Singles WH2 event at the Paralympics after losing two games to Japan's Daiki Kajiwara.
The newly won medal brought the Hong Kong team medal tally to two golds, three silvers, and a bronze at the Paris Paralympics.
