The MTR announced that train services from Mong Kok East to Tai Wai are temporarily suspended due to “a person on the track” at Kowloon Tong Station on Sunday.

It was learned that a person had entered the track area at 12.40 pm, leading to the suspension of the services.
The police and firefighters were alerted to the scene and found a body under the train.
It was learned that the body belonged to a 59-year-old man with a mood disorder. No suicide note was found at the scene.
Due to the incident, trains were running at 10-minute intervals between Admiralty and Mong Kok East, Tai Wai and Lo Wu, and Tai Po Market and Lok Ma Chau. Free shuttle buses between Kowloon Tong and Tai Wai Station are now running.
The service gradually resumed at 2 pm after the incident.
