Woman rescued from Tsing Yi waters

A woman had to be rescued after she lost her footing and fell into the waters in Tsing Yi on Thursday morning.

Shortly before 9 am today, a woman fell off Tsing Yi Pier near Fung Shue Wo Road.

Passersby who saw her fall in swiftly tossed a lifebuoy into the waters to save her.

She was able to grab hold of the lifebuoy and swim back to the pier.

The rescue workers, alerted to the scene, provided her with insulation to keep warm, during which she was seen smiling.

It is understood that the woman claimed she accidentally fell into the sea after losing her footing.

She suffered from light scrape wounds and was later taken to hospital for medical attention.
