Hong Kong-based Transport International's non-executive director, William Louey Lai Kuen, was arrested and released on bail in the UK in an investigation into a personal matter unrelated to the firm, the company said on Tuesday.
The company's statement did not divulge the charges or any details about the investigation, nor give a date of the arrest.
he UK police did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment, while Louey could not immediately be reached for comment.
"To the best knowledge, information and belief of the Board, the investigation and the involvement of Mr. Louey in the investigation do not relate to the current affairs of the company and do not and will not have any material adverse impact on any of the businesses and daily operations of the company and its subsidiaries," Transport International said.
