Secretary for the Civil Service Ingrid Yeung Ho Poi-yan said on Monday she was satisfied with the government-wide mobilization drill held last month, which saw improvements in internal communication and logistics support.
The SAR government held the exercise last month, simulating a situation where a super typhoon was approaching Hong Kong, with civil servants mobilized to assist residents in low-lying areas.
The civil service chief said the exercise had seen improvements when compared to the first drill held about a year ago.
She said public servants improved their internal communication, with different government bureaux and departments able to swiftly deliver supplies from storage facilities set up across the city to specified locations.
Yeung said authorities were more familiar with the mobilization protocol following the two drills, with their execution capabilities strengthened.
This is a testament that improving the mobilization protocol helps the government mobilize in a more organized, systematic, and efficient manner when required, said Yeung, adding that more drills are to be held in the future.
