For those with a passion for French culture, the festival offers a plethora of cultural events from dance, theater, music to art exhibitions during the Arts Festival.
Apart from the artistic activities, the festival also offers culinary art events for gourmets to savor the best of the French artistic scene even on the plate.
One of the upcoming spectacular events will be the "Symphony of New Worlds—Breakdance Symphonic," which combines classical music and urban dance to showcase the electrifying encounter between the two styles. It will be held next Thursday (May 23) and Friday (May 24) at 8 pm at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, with tickets priced between HK$150 and HK$420.
A dance musical named "LOVETRAIN2020" that will be held at Kwai Tsing Theatre this weekend also highlights the French May Arts Festival, with twelve professional dancers to reveal the obvious yet often overlooked ways people come together, drift apart, push, pull, question, and resolutely move forward through the performances.
Established in 1993, French May has grown over the last 30 years to become one of the largest French arts festivals in Asia with more than 100 programs presented across two months starting from May. It has also become an iconic part of the city's cultural scene that reaches over 200,000 visitors each year.
