Burglars make off with jewelry worth over HK$440,000 in Lok Ma Chau

A Lok Ma Chau detached flat was robbed of jewelry worth over HK$440,000 early Thursday morning.  

Shortly before 4 am today, officers received a report of a break-in from a 29-year-old male tenant living in a detached house in the San Tin section of Castle Peak Road who suspected that his apartment had been burglarized after finding traces of it being ransacked.

Officers were called to the scene and discovered that the glass door of the unit had been pried open.

After a preliminary recount, it was confirmed that jewelry worth HK$441,000 was burglarized from the house.

The incident was listed as a burglary case and has been handed over to the Border District police for follow-up.

An investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made so far.
