A total of 248 people were arrested for operating unlicensed bars and gambling dens as well as drug trafficking after the Police Force, Fire Services Department, and Lands Department conducted a cross-departmental crackdown on illicit activities in industrial buildings.

Seven illegal gambling establishments, 14 unlicensed bars and three drug dens were smashed in a 14-month-long operation that ended in March.
Officers arrested 147 men and 101 women, aged between 14 and 76, and seized a batch of drugs along with gambling tools. Six of the arrestees are Thais.
A total of 4,309 alcoholic drinks, ten electric mahjong tables, two Poker tables, 17 mahjong sets, HK$20,870 in cash, and HK$27,520 in betting chips were also seized.
In addition, officers seized various drugs, including cocaine, ketamine, methamphetamine, cannabis buds, and cannabis sweets, with a market value of over HK$18,000.
Police said the triad members set up illegal premises in the industrial buildings concerning concealment and loose security measures.
