It started at about 9.30 am, with Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu and Director of the Liaison Office of China in Hong Kong Zheng Yanxiong as the officiating guests at the opening ceremony.

Participants started at the HZMB-Hong Kong Link Road-Hong Kong direction near the west portal of the Scenic Hill Tunnel and then turned back along the road near Sha Lo Wan to the finishing point, with a total length of about six kilometers.
It took about two hours to complete the journey, and there was no drop-out point along the route.
All funds raised from the activity will be used to subsidize members of the Community Chest to provide family and child welfare services without deducting any administrative expenses.
