In his blog published on Sunday, Chan noted that society has been reacting positively since the “Night Vibes” campaign began on Temple Street in Jordan.
The atmosphere was electric and the area was flooded with people some of the nights, Chan said, hoping that the campaign can bring more energy to the district.
He also said transforming a street with historic features and street cultures into a night market that offers cuisines of different regions is the perfect demonstration of combining “tradition” and “innovation”.
Chan added that the Brands and Products Expo at Victoria Park focuses on local brands and has attracted both local citizens and mainland tourists since opening, saying that everyone likes “the taste of Hong Kong”.
He continued that whether it is the expo or other Hong Kong products and services, features of being innovative and creative are what lead Hong Kong-style to evolve and stand out, and attract local customers and tourists to revisit.
