A hearing has been adjourned to January for TVB artistes Bella Lam Wing-tung and Cheng Chun-hei as well as four others who were charged with disorder in a public place and obstructing a public officer.
The case arose from an argument in August when the six were trying to visit a girl with a protection order in hospital but were refused.
The four other defendants are saleswoman Hidy Sin Hin-tung, 47, baker Lau Hiu-kwan, 38, clerk Yeung Tin-lok, 42, and clerk Leung Tik-wah, 38.
All but Sin – who remains in hospital – appeared before acting principal magistrate Cheng Lim-chi in the Fanling Court on Friday morning.
The six of them were charged with behaving disorderly at the corridor outside a ward on the fourth floor of Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital on August 2
Except for Cheng, the other five were also charged with obstructing a social work officer from the Social Welfare Department in the emergency room of the North District Hospital the same day.
Magistrate Chen adjourned the hearing to January 12 as requested by the prosecution, pending legal advice. The six defendants continued to be granted bail on the previous conditions.
After today’s hearing, Lam said outside the court that she is not “frozen” by TVB due to this case and added she has earlier told the broadcaster that she wants to focus on her study in a nutrition program.
Cheng said he has to make some adjustments in work and thanks all parties for their cooperation. He added that there has yet to be any progress since he was previously arrested over the alleged JPEX fraud, and authorities haven’t pressed any charges against him at the moment.
