At least 12 schoolkids sustained minor injuries after the school bus they were on crashed into a cement truck in Shau Kei Wan on Friday morning.

The incident took place around 8.40 am when the two vehicles were traveling along Nam On Street. The cement truck stopped before a traffic light and the following school bus suspectedly didn’t apply the brakes in time and crashed into the rear end of the truck.
The school bus driver in his 40s sustained scratches to his face and some 12 students felt unwell.
Police later assessed the situation and allowed the school bus to return to the school on the nearby Oi Shun Road.
Paramedics came and sent the 12 students, including four boys and eight girls aged between eight and nine, to hospital.
It is understood that today is the school’s picnic day and the school bus was carrying students from two primary three classes at the time.
The remaining students then took another school bus to continue their activities.
