A project manager involved in the accident at boy band Mirror's concert in July last year, and is accused of falsifying equipment data to get approval from authorities, indicated on Thursday he will plead not guilty to his charge.
Joseph Leung Yiu-cho, 48, was brought to the District Court today on one charge of conspiracy to defraud. He indicated to the judge that he would plead not guilty to the charge.
Two co-defendants in the case slapped with the same charge - Project Manager Ng Hoi-ying, 41, and Technical Coordinator Lam Chi-wah, 60 - also indicated earlier that they will plead not guilty to their charges.
Leung was not required to enter a plea today and was granted bail on the same conditions.
Chief District Judge Justin Ko King-sau scheduled the men's trial for October 16 next year, with the trial expected to run for 18 days.
According to court documents, the three were each charged with one count of conspiracy to defraud and a joint count of fraud for allegedly making false declarations about the weight of stage equipment in the application to the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
