A fierce blaze ripped through the Pat Heung garage located on Lam Kam Road at approximately 10 pm yesterday (Oct 12), causing thick billowing smoke and loud explosions.
The firefighers were alerted to the scene after receiving multiple reports, deploying two water jets and two breathing apparatus teams to handle the situation.
The fire was completely extinguished by 11.29 pm, and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
It is understood that the location was a taxi scrapyard, where the owner used to repair parts after dismantling the taxis to resell them.
After the fire, which completely charred the whole location and various vehicles, the 80-year-old owner is said to be retiring, as he is not planning to rebuild the garage from the ground up.
