Hong Kong and Shenzhen jointly presented drone light shows for the first time on Saturday (Sept 30), with about 1,200 drones in each city lit up the night sky over Victoria Harbour and OCT Harbour to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day.
The drones staged a light show to complement the dramatic Hong Kong and Shenzhen skylines, including blooming osmanthus flowers to spread best wishes for family reunions under the full moon. The drones also showed a scene from the Chinese myth of “Chang’e Flies to the Moon."
The formation of the drones also showed the Tian’anmen Rostrum, adorned with large red lanterns, landmarks in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, and the map of China blossomed with flowers.
