The Xiaohongshu user surnamed Wang, separated the "rules" into five sections and wrote them on nine pages in full English for her domestic helper in Hong Kong.
The first section, labeled family rules, had 22 items ranging from regulating what the domestic helper could wear to when she could enter the main bedroom and what drinks to serve guests, among others.
The remaining four supplemental sections focused on working attitude, rest day regulations, and principles in communication, with the fifth section containing a work schedule for the domestic helpers.
The provided schedule revealed that the domestic helper had to wake up at 7 am and work until 9 pm every day while not having meal breaks as they were required to have their meal while preparing breakfast and dinner for the family.
After the rules were revealed, many internet users commented that Wang was an unjust employer who exploited her domestic helper.
Some slammed Wang for using the term 'according to Hong Kong law' to cheat her helper, as Wang listed in the rules that the helper would be repatriated under the law if she was pregnant, despite it being untrue.
Others stated that they are surprised the employer doesn't feel uncomfortable subjecting a human to such inhumane regulations and thought they should be worried the helper will hold a grudge over such treatment.
