Organizers of the exhibition decided to drain one of the ducks, created by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman and standing at 18 meters tall, on Saturday after the “rubber duck’s skin became strained because of the hot weather causing air pressure to rise.”
The creator Hofman said the rubber duck was on tour around the globe and the most challenging part of the journey is the weather, with the duck required to “take a break” at times under the hot summer weather.
He was also touched that many local netizens have given full play to their creativity leaving comments and creating artworks related to the exhibition.
