A 57-year-old woman was arrested on Wednesday night after allegedly throwing two cats off a Tsz Wan Shan building, with the animals confirmed dead on the scene.

The two cats died tragically as their bodies were spotted outside a garbage room in Tsz Wan Shan at 6 am on Wednesday, sparking suspicions that they were viciously thrown off a residential building Lok Wong House of Tsz Lok Estate.
Police said after their investigation, they arrested the woman Mak for animal cruelty. She is granted police bail and has to report to police late this month.
The case is handled by the Wong Tai Sin district crime investigation team.
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has since retrieved the cats’ bodies for further examination.
Following the incident, a photo showing the cats’ bodies was circulated online, with captions blasting the owner for the cold-hearted murder. However, other sources suggested that the two cats fell down the building in an accident.
