Senior officials of St Paul’s Secondary School revealed on Thursday that the parents of the two students who died in the Shau Kei Wan tragedy have previously sought help from the school after it resumed in-person classes.
The tragedy yesterday saw two students, wearing the uniform of the prestigious girl’s school in Happy Valley, plunge to their death from a Shau Kei Wan building in an apparent suicide pact.
Speaking to reporters today, senior school officials said both students’ parents had sought help from the school after it resumed in-person classes, with the school social worker closely following up on their case.
However, the officials refused to further elaborate on what the parents reported to the school, citing the case is now being investigated by the police force.
Meanwhile, the officials said the school had formed a crisis management team. The team, along with teachers, educational psychologists, and social workers, would conduct emotional assessments and counseling for teachers and pupils.
The school had also reminded parents to take note of their children’s emotions and provide them with support when necessary.
