Five buildings were locked down on Saturday after the sewage samples discharged tested positive for Covid-19 and cases involving a mutant strain were reported.
The five buildings are Sau Ming House in Sau Mau Ping Estate; Chun Lai House and Chun Yin House of Hang Chun Court in Cheung Sha Wan; Foo Wai House in Sun Tin Wai Estate and Foo Wo House in Wo Che Estate in Sha Tin.
The lockdowns are expected to be lifted between 1pm and 3pm on Sunday.
Residents of these five buildings are required to undergo compulsory testing by tonight between 10pm and midnight.
Citizens who had been to these five buildings for more than two hours between February 13 and today (Feb 26) must also take the Covid tests by next Monday (Feb 28).
Vaccinated citizens and those who recently tested negative must undergo testing as well since a mutant strain is involved.
Meanwhile, in the lockdown declared on Friday night, health authorities have revealed over 600 preliminary positive cases.
Some 910 residents of Block 5, On Ning Garden on Sheung Ning Road in Tseung Kwan O underwent testing and around 85 tested preliminary positive. Seven saw the results of their samples returned indeterminate.
At Sau Wah House in Sau Mau Ping Estate, 259 out of 2,070 residents tested preliminary positive and 36 tested indeterminate.
The neighboring Sau Yee House saw 273 out of 2,030 residents tested preliminary positive and 40 tested indeterminate.
