Hung Lok House at Hung Fuk Estate in Yuen Long was locked down on Thursday night after the sewage samples there tested positive for Covid-19.
The lockdown is expected to be lifted at noon on Friday.
Residents must undergo compulsory testing by midnight and those who had been to the building between January 28 and today (Feb 10) must take the Covid tests by Saturday (Feb 12) as well.
Vaccinated citizens and those who recently tested negative must also undergo testing since a mutant strain is involved.
Meanwhile, government will close Tai Wai Market full-day on Friday and Saturday for deep cleaning and disinfection after detecting confirmed cases related to the market.
The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department expected the market to reopen on Sunday if all goes well.
Tenants of the market are requested to test negative before returning to work, the department continued.
