The Home Affairs Department announced on Thursday it has set up a 24-hour telephone hotline to provide support and assistance to persons undergoing home quarantine under the "StayHomeSafe" Scheme.
Citizens can reach operators of the hotline by dialing 1833 019.
The department said 100 lines will be available in the initial stage and may be expanded depending on the demand. The hotline centers are located in Wong Tai Sin Community Centre and Lai Chi Kok Community Hall.
The "StayHomeSafe" Scheme was launched on February 8, arranging for close contacts and household contacts of close contacts who are deemed appropriate after assessment to undergo home quarantine for 14 days and four days respectively.
The hotline staff will provide general inquiry service and mark down requests for assistance made by persons undergoing home quarantine under the scheme, and refer the relevant cases to relevant departments for follow-up as appropriate.
Meanwhile, the Hong Kong Red Cross has earlier launched a psychological support service - “Shall We Talk” - in response to the city’s Covid lockdowns.
The group said in view of the emotional needs of citizens regarding the pandemic and other emergency incidents, it will provide Emergency Psychological Support Service to anyone experiencing emotional distress because of the incidents.

The group said the service is handled by trained volunteers or staff members, with professional support from clinical psychologists.
